Inner Mongolia Hongde College of Arts and Science, formerly known as Hongde College of Inner Mongolia Normal University, is a full-time private undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education. The College started to enroll undergraduates in 2008; was approved to carry out international student education in 2010; started dual-degree education in 2016, and was identified as a pilot school for the transformation and development of undergraduate colleges and universities in the autonomous region; was approved to enroll in "college education" in 2017; and was successfully transferred by the Ministry of Education on March 18, 2020 (Education On March 18, 2020, the College was approved by the Ministry of Education to become the first independent private undergraduate university in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region (No. 16 [2020]). The College is located in Hohhot, the capital of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, with the White Tower International Airport to the east, the Hohhot East Railway Station to the west, and the Metro Line 1 and the Beijing-Huhai High-speed Railway to the north and south, making transportation very convenient. The college is adjacent to the Inner Mongolia Museum, Ulanqat Theatre and Inner Mongolia Science and Technology Museum, and is in the cultural centre of Hohhot, the nearest college to the regional government and Hohhot city government. With advanced teaching facilities and a beautiful campus environment, the College was awarded the "Hohhot City Garden Unit" by the Hohhot Landscape Bureau in 2016 and the "Capital Garden Campus" by the Hohhot Greening Committee in 2020. The College has set up disciplines and majors according to the positioning of talent cultivation and market demand, with six major disciplines and 15 first-level disciplines in economics, education, literature, engineering, management and art, covering 26 undergraduate majors. Engineering Management, Marketing, Accounting, Financial Management, Auditing, Property Management, Public Service Management, E-commerce, Tourism Management, Radio and Television Choreography, Animation, Fine Arts, Painting, Photography, Visual Communication Design and Environmental Design. Among them, pre-school education, English, radio and television choreography, accounting and fine arts have been approved as the provincial first-class undergraduate major construction points. There are also six specialist majors. There are more than 14,000 full-time students. Since its establishment, the College has always adhered to the direction of socialism and implemented the education policy of the Party and the State, under the guidance of the philosophy of "establishing the school for the public, teaching for the country". With the guiding ideology of "safe campus, internal construction, innovative development and striving for higher level", the College has achieved leap-forward development. In recent years, the College has been described by students and parents as "the most strictly managed university in Inner Mongolia". In terms of teaching, the college regards teaching quality as its lifeline and strengthens its daily teaching management by checking the status of classes every day, holding weekly meetings with department heads and organising teaching inspections every semester. In terms of student management, the "five major projects" (humanities development, management excellence training, campus civilization construction, social volunteerism and social practice) are used to improve the overall quality of students, and the "four checking systems" (checking morning exercises, evening study, staying out at night and The College aims to cultivate application-oriented talents. The College aims to cultivate applied talents with a wide calibre, strong foundation, innovative spirit and practical ability. The number of full-time students in the College has increased 14 times in 14 years, and nearly 20,000 undergraduates have been trained and delivered by 2021, and the employment rate of graduates is among the highest in the autonomous region, which has won a good reputation in the society. The College has set up a Research Promotion Committee, issued a series of policy documents such as the Measures for Rewarding Scientific Research Achievements, increased the annual research funding by RMB 1 million, and launched the "Academic Exchange Month" once a year. In the past five years, the teachers of the College have established hundreds of research projects of various kinds and published more than a thousand papers. The most distinctive aspects of the College's research are the Northern China Rock Painting Institute and the Pakistan Research Centre. The Institute of Petroglyphs of Northern China became the 53rd member of the World Petroglyphs Organisation in 2015, and has built a database of petroglyphs of northern China, published a series of translated books on the art of petroglyphs of the world, and published more than 20 papers. The School's Centre for Pakistani Studies has a high profile in the field, and is a contributor to the Pakistani journal Diplomatic Horizons, undertaking the review of papers for two Pakistani universities and an international journal, as well as undertaking a research project for the Chinese Academy of Sciences, publishing three translations and over 30 papers in recent years. The College is one of the universities with the largest number of foreign teachers and students in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. In recent years, the College has been characterised by its internationalisation, mainly in the form of international teaching, international teaching staff and international campus culture. The College has established cooperation with more than 20 schools in the UK, USA, Korea, Pakistan and Togo, and has employed more than 70 foreign teachers with the affiliated Little London English School. In 2017, five institutions, including Beijing Language and Culture University, Shanghai University, Xi'an Foreign Language Institute and Hebei Normal University, became partner institutions of the Pakistani Government Scholarship Programme. The political centrality and supervisory role of the Party organisation has promoted the healthy and rapid development of the College. At the very beginning of its establishment, the college put forward the guiding ideology of "three reassurances" and "three front-runners" for party building work, and made party building work the focus of the college's long-term work. The "three reassurances" are to reassure the Party and government, parents and students, and staff; the "three frontrunners" are to be at the forefront of all the work in the college; among the parent colleges of Inner Mongolia Normal University (the former independent college before its transfer), the Party building work of our college is the most important.
