Fujian Agriculture And Forestry University is located in Fuzhou, the gateway to the Maritime Silk Road and one of the first coastal port cities open to the outside world. It is a key provincial university with advantages and characteristics in agriculture and forestry, and coordinated development in science, engineering, economics, management, literature, law and arts. It is also a first-class university in Fujian Province. The predecessor of Fujian University of Agriculture and Forestry is the Department of Agriculture of Fujian Union University established in 1936 and Fujian Provincial Agricultural College established in 1940, and in 1952, the two cultural lines came together to establish Fujian Agricultural College, and in the autumn of 1958, the provincial government established Fujian Forestry College based on the Department of Forestry of Fujian Agricultural College, and in October 2000, the former Fujian Agricultural University and the former Fujian Forestry College merged to form the new Fujian In October 2000, the former Fujian Agricultural University and the former Fujian Forestry College merged to form the new Fujian University of Agriculture and Forestry. The university has 20 colleges focusing on full-time undergraduate and graduate training and one independent college, with 32,000 students, including more than 22,000 undergraduates and 10,000 graduate students (including more than 950 doctors). There are 65 undergraduate majors (classes), 8 pilot majors for excellence in agriculture and forestry, 18 national first-class undergraduate majors, 2 national experimental teaching demonstration centers, and 36 national first-class undergraduate courses. The university has been selected as one of the first batch of top 50 innovation and entrepreneurship universities by the Ministry of Education and a national innovation and entrepreneurship base for the practice of education in colleges and universities. In the "Challenge Cup" national extracurricular academic science and technology works competition for college students and the "Youth Creation" national college students' entrepreneurship competition, the university has won the "Winning Cup" seven times. There are 3,145 teaching staffs in the university, including 2006 full-time teachers. There are 272 high-level talents (547 times) at provincial level and above in full-time employment, including 50 national talents (117 times), including 1 national outstanding professional and technical talents, 10 national major talent program, 9 people in the Ten Thousand Talents Program, 9 "Changjiang scholars", 6 recipients of the National Outstanding Youth Science Foundation, and 14 national candidates in the Hundred Million Talents Project. The university has been selected as one of the national demonstration bases for innovative talent cultivation, and two bases have been selected as one of the national "Program for the Introduction of Innovation and Intelligence in Higher Education" ("111" Program). The university has 12 authorized points of doctoral degree in first-level disciplines, 1 authorized point of doctoral professional degree, 27 authorized points of master's degree in first-level disciplines, 17 authorized points of master's professional degree, and 11 postdoctoral research stations. There are one national key discipline, one national key cultivation discipline, two key disciplines of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and seven key disciplines of the National Forestry and Grass Bureau. In the fourth round of national discipline evaluation, 17 disciplines have been listed, among which 4 disciplines of plant protection, forestry, ecology and landscape architecture have been listed in the top 10%-20%. 6 disciplines have been selected as peak disciplines in Fujian Province, and 12 disciplines have been selected as highland disciplines in Fujian Province. "Since the 13th Five-Year Plan, the university has received more than 2,700 longitudinal research projects and nearly 1 billion yuan in research funding, including 508 National Natural Funds, including 2 Outstanding Youths and 4 Excellent Youths; 3 National Science and Technology Progress Awards; 119 ministerial and provincial achievements awards, including 19 first-class awards. For the first time in the world, the genomes of sugarcane, tetraploid peanut, pineapple and water lily were deciphered, and six academic results were published in the top international journals "Science", "Nature" and "Cell" as the first completed or corresponding author unit. The university is the invention unit of mycorrhizal technology, and the new varieties of sugarcane, jute, cedar, sweet potato, peanut, tea and vegetable selected and formed by the promotion of practical technical achievements cover the main production areas of the country. The university has been approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Education to establish the Institute of New Rural Development, and has established the Institute of Rural Revitalization, the Institute of Mycorrhizal Science and Technology, and the Strait Seed Industry Innovation Research Institute, and has continued to deepen the science and technology commissioner system and implement the team support program to build a new model of rural science and technology promotion service that closely integrates industry, academia and research to serve the comprehensive revitalization of rural areas in our province. The university is one of the "Chinese Government Scholarship Institutions for International Students" of the Ministry of Education, with 149 international students from 39 countries studying for their degrees. The university has taken the lead in separate admissions to Taiwan, and has organized five Sino-foreign cooperative programs with universities such as Dalhousie University and the University of British Columbia in Canada, and more than 20 joint training and exchange programs with famous universities in the United States, Canada, Germany, Australia and other countries, and students can also apply for the innovative talent training program of the China Scholarship Council, the rural revitalization program and the international organization program. Students can also apply for the National Scholarship Council's Innovative Talent Training Program, Rural Revitalization Program, International Organization Program, etc. to study abroad. The university has also established a Confucius Institute with Durban University of Technology in South Africa. The campus of Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University is surrounded by mountains and forests on three sides, with beautiful scenery and fragrant birds and flowers. The university has been awarded as a national civilized unit for three consecutive years and a national civilized campus in 2020. It was upgraded to a full-time public undergraduate institution of higher learning upon the approval of the Ministry of Education in 2011 and granted undergraduate degree program in 2015. It became one of the pilot schools transforming as a whole to application-oriented universities in 2016. It is also an initiator and Vice Chairman of Non-profit Private University Alliance. The University adheres to the educational philosophy, “Benevolence in Mind, Expression and Action” and the school motto, “Be Thoroughly Acquainted with Chinese and Foreign Civilization and Put What have been Digested into Practice” and cultivates fine school spirit, “Uphold Morality, Study Diligently, Seek Truth, Make Innovations” by fully implementing the education policies of the State, sticking to socialist orientation for running a school and fostering practicing core socialist values in order to ensure fast and orderly development of the University. Fujian Normal University (FNU), a century-old university based in Fuzhou, a historic cultural city known as “Land of Culture on the Coast”, is a time-honored and well-acclaimed provincial institution of higher learning. Founded as Fujian Superior Normal School in 1907 by the famous late-Qing scholar Chen Baochen, who once served as the teacher of China’s last emperor, the present day FNU went through a few changes—merging with the former Hwa-Nan Women’s College of Arts and Sciences, Fukien Christian University and Fujian Provincial Teachers School respectively—to form Fujian Teachers College in 1953. In 1972, the University was renamed Fujian Normal University and has been thus referred to since then. In 2012, the Ministry of Education and Fujian government began to jointly support the development of the University. FNU was designated as provincial high-level university for prioritized construction in 2014 and as provincial first-class university in 2018. The vicissitudes in its century-old history notwithstanding, a fine scholarly tradition has been inherited and sustained by generation after generation of its faculty and students. FNU is proud to count among its teaching staff quite a few internationally renowned scientists and men of letters, including Ye Shengtao, Guo Shaoyu, Dong Zuobin, Lin Lanying, Zheng Zuoxin, Huang Weiyuan, Tang Zhongzhang, Tang Chongti, and Yao Jiannian. A traditional and innovative commitment to academic excellence by its teachers and students alike, unswerving even at times of trials and adversities, has given rise to a distinctive ethos embodied in FNU’s motto–To Know and to Act, with Devotion and with Aspiration. FNU publishes a long list of scholarly journals, including The Journal of Fujian Normal University (the humanities and social sciences edition), The Journal of Fujian Normal University (the natural sciences edition), both are designated as “core periodicals published in Chinese”. The former edition has been listed as one of the “journals of renowned columns” by the Ministry of Education and the source journal of Chinese Social Sciences Citation Index, while the latter has been selected as one of China’s “core periodicals in science and technology” and the source journal of Chinese Science Citation Database. The FNU library, one of China’s ancient book protection centers, holds a collection of 4 million paper books and nearly 3 million electronic books. Whereas the number marks it out as one of the largest libraries in normal universities throughout China, the FNU library is famed internationally for its impressive collections of ancient texts, rare books, rubbings of engraved tablets, calligraphic works and paintings, Fujian’s local cultural and historical documents, early editions of foreign language publications, and major newspapers published during the historic period known as the May Fourth Movement. The University boasts sophisticated and extensively-applicable internet facilities and complete wi-fi coverage, and, to provide for various sports games, training, as well as for fitness, a number of state-of-the-art and well-equipped stadiums and sports fields. Affiliated to FNU, there are one branch college (in Fuqing City), one high school and one elementary school. The Affiliated High School of FNU is acclaimed in the province as the holder of the greatest number of International Science Olympiad medals. The chapter of 113 spectacular years has just been turned over. Upholding its principle of morality and integrity for professionals, FNU is now devoted to implementing a comprehensive reform broadly, promoting a connotative development widely, and enhancing the school quality extensively. Fujian Medical University (FJMU) was founded in 1937. With the mission of creating and nurturing a diverse community of elites who are "diligent, prudent, truth-seeking and innovative", for over 70 years, it has developed an integral education system offering bachelor's, master's and doctor's degree programs. In 2003, FJMU was approved by Fujian Provincial People's Government as one of the key universities for priority development. Now, it consists of Shangjie campus and Taijiang campus，covering an area of approximately 87 hectares with a floor space of 400,000 square meters. FJMU currently provides 25 bachelor programs, including Clinical Medicine (7-Year Program and 5-Year Program), Stomatology, Preventive Medicine, Medical Laboratory Tests and Analysis, Anesthesiology, Medical Imaging, Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Utilities Management, Social Work, etc. At present, in Basic Medical Sciences, Clinical Medicine, Clinical Stomatology and Pharmacology, FJMU confers doctoral degrees, as well as master's degrees which also cover Biology, Stomatology, Public Health and Preventive Medicine, Integrative Medicine, Pharmacy, and Social Medicine and Health Care Management. The University has a full-time enrollment of 12,000 undergraduates, and over 2,200 postgraduate and doctoral students. It has been approved to offer undergraduate programs to students from mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and foreign countries. In addition, it has established a multi-disciplinary and multi-level continuing medical education system. Now, FJMU's 477 professors and chief physicians, along with 682 associate professors and associate chief physicians, make part of its faculty members and medical personnel totalling up to 5,638, in which there are 528 master's and doctor's supervisors. Our network of 13 affiliated hospitals (including schools of clinical medicine) and 29 teaching hospitals, affords desirable clinical teaching programs and training opportunities for medical students. In FJMU, there are 2 research stations that offer postdoctoral fellowships (for Clinical Medicine and Basic Medical Sciences), 1 key laboratory of the Ministry of Education, 7 key laboratories & research centers jointly supported by the Ministry of Education and Fujian Province, 12 provincial key disciplines, 5 key laboratories of Fujian, and 19 provincial scientific research institutes. The University publishes several academic periodicals, entitled Journal of Fujian Medical University (Medical Science Edition), Journal of Fujian Medical University (Social Science Edition), Chinese Journal of Hypertension, and Chinese Journal of Cardiovascular Rehabilitation. Since its establishment, Fuzhou University has developed into a key comprehensive university in Fujian Province, giving priority to engineering courses and also enjoying a reputation for excellence in other fields including sciences, economics, management, liberal arts, law, arts and design, etc. Now Fuzhou University covers more than 333 hectares, including several campuses such as Yishan campus, Qishan campus, Tongpan campus and the School of Art and Design in Xiamen. The main running campus is located in Qishan campus of the University Town of Fuzhou Region. There are 19 schools in Fuzhou University mainly for undergraduate education and two independently operated colleges -- Zhicheng College and Yangguang College. There are 4 post-doctoral research stations, 9 doctoral degree programmes for the first-rank disciplines, 54 doctoral degree programmes for the second-rank disciplines, 29 master’s degree programmes for the first-rank disciplines and 168 master’s degree programmes for the second-rank disciplines and 11 professional degree authorization stations. Since its establishment, about 200,000 students graduated from Fuzhou University, including full-time doctoral and master’s degree students as well as those with the bachelor’s degrees and associate degrees. Fuzhou University has been taking great efforts to develop the cooperation and exchange. The international and national academic conferences have been conducted successfully in Fuzhou University so that the social academic influence from Fuzhou University has been enhanced. In 2016, FJTCM passed the audit assessment of undergraduate education, the physical therapist professional entry level education program was awarded accreditation by the World Confederation for Physical Therapy, and the occupational therapy program was evaluated and approved by the World Federation of Occupational Therapists. In May 2017, FJTCM passed the evaluation conducted by the Ministry of Education on the Degree Program of TCM Pharmacology. In March 2019, FJTCM passed the evaluation conducted by the Ministry of Education on the Degree Program of Nursing. In March 2020, FJTCM passed the evaluation conducted by the Ministry of Education on the Degree Program of Clinical Medicine. There are 20 ministry-level key disciplines of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine (SATCM), 2 provincial Class-A peak disciplines (Integrative Medicine and TCM), 3 provincial plateau disciplines (TCM Pharmacy, Nursing and Pharmacy),and 2 provincial application-oriented disciplines (Clinical Medicine and Management). The discipline of Clinical Medicine entered the ESI global top 1%. FJTCM has 2 National-Local Joint Engineering Research Centers, 1 key laboratory of Ministry of Education, 1 TCM Rehabilitation Research Center of SATCM, 3 Key Laboratories of SATCM, 8 national top-level laboratories, 1 TCM Literature Retrieval Center of SATCM, 4 provincial “2011 collaborative innovation centers”,2 provincial big data institutes, and 18 provincial key laboratories, bases & engineering research centers. FJTCM successively received 743 national and provincial awards for the scientific achievements, including 1 second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award, and 1 second prize of Science and Technology Progress Award of the Ministry of Education. The university further promoted scientific innovation, increased investment on research, and undertook 2736 research projects, among which 166 are national ones, such as national research projects, including projects supported by National Key Technology R & D Program, projects supported by National Basic Research Program (973 Program), programs of National Natural Science Foundation, “TCM modernization research” key projects of National key research and development plan, projects supported by the Joint Funds of Cross-Straits Scientific Cooperation, national social science fund projects, key & major projects supported by National Major New Drug Creation Program. FJTCM has established a comprehensive system for clinical teaching and practice with 4 directly affiliated hospitals, among which the Affiliated Rehabilitation Hospital is the first rehabilitation hospital in China that has been awarded a CARF accreditation, 11 non-directly affiliated hospitals, 10 clinical colleges, and more than 100 bases for teaching and clinical practices. There are 8 national key subjects (rehabilitation, anus-intestine, spleen & stomach, surgery, etc.), 17 ministry-level key subjects of SATCM. The university also set up Guoyitang Clinic in Pingshan Campus to provide medical service to the public. FJTCM has 2 campuses and occupies an area of about 68.67 hectares with a floor space of over 340,000 square meters. Because of its graceful environment, rich and vibrant campus life with TCM characteristics, the university has been awarded the Nation Pioneer Unit on TCM Culture Construction, the National Verdurization Model Unit, and has been consecutively entitled Civilized Campus for seven times by Fujian provincial committee & government. FJTCM promotes the construction of a conservation-oriented campus, and was identified as the first batch of National Conservation Oriented Demonstration Unit of Public Institutions, and won the honorary title of Energy Efficiency Leader of Public Institutions in the country. FJTCM is the first TCM university in the mainland to enroll Taiwan students and is the first to build the province’s overseas TCM center “China-Philippines TCM Center”.
